What to do, what to do....I was growing a little concerned because my work schedule had me signed up to milk this morning and tomorrow night, leaving a 32 hour gap in between with no work to be had and not a whole lot to do. Only child that I am, I have come up with fun and creative ways to keep myself entertained over the years, only a few of which involve watching porn. But with the weather being pretty crappy, many of my favorite outdoor activities sounds significantly less pleasant, and you can only see so many movies. I have plenty of craft projects to dive into, but I need to be out-of-house for a portion of the day or else I start feeling like a slug. Plus, I like getting dressed and going somewhere in the morning.
Luckily for me, we switched things around and now I am milking day and night for the next few days. This schedule is working out nicely for me, especially because I finally dove back in the swimming pool today after a prolonged hiatus. It took me 40 minutes to swim 1 mile which is about exactly average for me. I signed myself up and paid cash for a three month membership to the Sweet Home community pool. Now I HAVE to go.
After my swim I bumbled around town for a while and found a small table to put Pete's mother's sewing machine on for $35. It's Formica and cool and the right size, hooray. I went to a funny little store in Sweet Home called Periwinkle Provisions where they have lots of bulk organic food (and I could have sworn I'd never find organic pumpkin seeds in this town!), so I got some ingredients for making granola. Just doing my part to support the local economy. I also noticed they sold cod liver oil at a fairly reasonable price. I'm back to taking mine in earnest. Yuck.
Now it's 3 o'clock already and I'm home. It's raining outside and I'm going to make some hot lunch of left-over rabbit, rice and bok choy. Then I may indulge myself in a nap and some housework. I will leave again at 7:30 for tonight's milking. If I were so inclined I could go swimming AGAIN at 7 and be there in time for milking at 8. But no need to double-up today. The rainy weather doesn't get me down, but it doesn't motivate me to be terribly ambitious either. Now it's time for lunch, ta ta!
Here's a recipe for the best granola in the entire universe.
